About Us
Founded in 2001 by
career EDI professionals with 50+ years of combined
experience, Behr Technologies was born of necessity.
While working with a major marketing company in
the Metro Detroit area, a decision was made to
try to integrate their smaller suppliers (print
shops, 1 or 2 product providers, etc.) into their
overall EDI strategy. These suppliers, after researching
the cost of doing EDI through traditional means
pushed back on the program due to cost. By offering
EDI services via the web at an affordable cost,
the smaller suppliers were able to fulfill their
EDI requirements put on them by their customer,
and their customer was able to save time and money,
along with additional labor hours associated with
the manual mailings of the same information now
transmitted via EDI. COMPASS web-EDI was born.
Once the initial customers
were up and running, a decision was made to offer
high-quality, flexible and scaleable EDI solutions.
Now small business can interact with larger suppliers,
without the large cost associated with traditional
EDI solutions. Along with this mantra came the
ability to uniquely customize each solution for
each client without large development fees or
long turnaround times for delivery. Such examples
of customization would include:
· Custom reporting
· Integration to UPS Worldship® software
for the creation of shipping labels
· Unique information delivery, including
Microsoft Excel® or comma-delimited (CSV)
file formats
